In Central Wisconsin, there has been major overlap in groups that contribute to planning and funding mechanisms of the city and county government. Some of these are simply private, and others are "public-private" entities.
Below are the first six pages of the City’s application to the EPA for a Brownfield Area-Wide Planning Grant. I chose these pages because they are the pages of the grant that deal with community need, impact on sensitive populations, and health concerns. The application was written to secure funding to further the East Riverfront
City council members knew of CBL's multiple defaults on mall loans before last night's Committee of the Whole approval of $4.1 million in unsecured loans. I strongly oppose any unsecured loans to CBL and urge my fellow residents to read about the company’s history (even its very recent 2015 history) of defaulting on massive loans. Given CBL’s problematic history, this mall agreement puts the financial welfare of our community at risk.
Wausau has an income inequality and poverty problem. Incomes for working families have declined or stagnated for decades. We are leaving the generation commonly called the millennials with less economic opportunity than their parents - a first in our nation's history.
