City council members knew of CBL's multiple defaults on mall loans before last night's Committee of the Whole approval of $4.1 million in unsecured loans. I strongly oppose any unsecured loans to CBL and urge my fellow residents to read about the company’s history (even its very recent 2015 history) of defaulting on massive loans. Given CBL’s problematic history, this mall agreement puts the financial welfare of our community at risk.
